MESSIAH ESPORTS SCORE REPORTING

Beginning in August 2021, I have worked as an assistant to Messiah University’s Esports team. My duties in this job mainly include designing graphics and managing the team’s social media accounts. In this project, I was tasked with creating a score reporting template which could be used for any of our six teams. After settling on the final design, I began working with another assistant who manages the scores of each game. He gives me the names of the opposing schools, the date the game was played on, and the final scores of the match. I then put everything into my template, render the image, and schedule it to be posted on social media the following day. The current template was one I made in August 2022. I had made another one the year prior, but it needed a new look for the new school year. Since this template is used for different games, I wanted it to be as neutral as possible. I decided on using our school’s colors with a grungy background texture. Although the template looks simple, it took quite some time to create. I studied many other schools' accounts, taking note of how they all reported their scores. In the gallery, I included an example of the 2021 template. I think the new template is a great improvement in both readability and visual appeal.
